i'm currently suffering from the PDD- Post Dancenight Depression. :( the past two weeks have been such whirlwinds of excitement. tiring, no doubt, when we had to rush to pe studio/rua/salt centre every single day after lessons for prac and prac and more prac. and every prac ending at eight plus, going for dinner with the dancers and just spend time together talking about the dance, talking about dancenight.. we were really tired out. but it truly felt goood. like i was sick and missed school on wed and thurs, i totally missed dance. going back to school at 3 specially just for dance felt so good. it was fulfilling, because then you feel the direction in your life. there is somewhere where you need to go, something which you need to accomplish. you aint like the other people you see walking round the school just studying away. you need to do something. you feel needed and important. i like that feeling :)
today was back to schooool. and every single time when i stoned in lectures or tutorials, or even when i was sleeeeeping. i think of dancenight. i think of mosaic. i think of femme and i think of journey. thankyou seniors for giving us femme, something different from the style of syf, the emo emo dance style we had been practising for the past many months. femme was a truly fabulous dance :) i loved tango and say it right and rockyabody. :) the music is still stuck in my head. i spent the whole of last night listening to it while on the computer and i really feel like dancing it out all over again.

"HC WAS FREAKIN' GOOD. GOD GOD GOD GOD. So bloody emo. It's a dance about the melancholy before a journey. It was spectacular, there were flips here and there, very tempestuous moments and very emotional moments. The music, though Chinese, crept right into me and caught me totally off guard. Then there was this ladder technique which was just OMG OMG OMG OMG. I can't describe it, YOU GOTTA SEE IT. IT WAS SO AMAZING THAT IT BLEWS THE AUDIENCE AWAY JUST LIKE THAT. A definite Gold with Honours, I'm telling you."

"Yesterday's DanceNight was rather awesome. The dances were well-choreographed; and equipped with some (limited) knowledge of art philosophy and appreciate I applied it to the event. The MAD SYF piece was very well-executed. The symbolisms held much meaning - folded umbrellas embossed in ivory, falling ladders swaying with much hesitation, suitcases and ramps neatly packed away and carried to flights of fancy, and a red umbrella hanging suspended. I thought about it for a long time, and didnt sleep until 1am."

journey, always so fulfilling and satisfying. the last part when we all turn around to see meiling and the red umbrella floating up in the air. that very second, i swore i will always be holding my breath. and when the beautiful red umbrella floats up and meiling goes down onto the ramp with the suitcase, the dance ends on such a beautiful note. it's like bringing the whole dance together, with the umbrella, the suitcase. :) it was perfect and so so beautiful. for journey, we always know we can do it. it was, is and always will be our pride and honour. i feel so proud, so proud to be part of the meaningful and beautiful dance which everyone says is the best of the whole show :) it is the best because it involved so so much. so many months of practices, and that emo talk on that particular friday which i will probably remember forever, the seniors' love and trust and belief, the closeness our batch experienced, the kind of unity and togetherness during the syf period which belonged specially to hwachong mad modern. journey took alot to be presented on stage for the audience, it involved so much. a huge amount of emotions is involved in this particular dance. everytime before our syf item, we will all gather in our very own hc mad modern circle, we'll look at each other and think about syf. and we'll all close our eyes and think through all that we have been through. so so much. we'll think about the seniors' words, we'll think about that very moment before we went up on the ucc stage on syf day, we'll think about that second when clarice screamed gold with honours how everyone screamed till they cried. we'll think about all these. thats why i say journey means so much to each one of us. because it isnt just a dance anymore. it is truly, a journey. a journey of our own. and during the dance we will all put in just so much emotions, we will feel deep down in our heart all the sorrow we can ever feel, and feel for this dance. and towards the end, we will never fail to feel tears in our eyes. cause that is just how much we put in, and just how much it means to each and every one of us. i will always remember this sentence on the loveletter given to me by the seniors on syf day. "today, we dance for all the sorrow we have in us, we dance for what we have went through the past six months, and we dance for everything to come for M.A.D." i never fail to think of it every single time before the syf dance when we were backstage, and it is always the key to my heart which opens up all the bare emotions inside of me, just for the dance. it is and will always be stuck in my head till forever <3
everyone's asking me whether we will do it again :) for now, it will be on during hwachong arts fest concert this wednesday. the very last time we will be doing it? with the seniors. the beloved seniors who made all this happen for us. and we will do it again. journey <3

okay hc MAD and chinese dance is going up on stage tmr night and saturday night to do our best and dance our hearts out:) thanks everyone coming to support either tmr night or saturday night. i just hope the audience will enjoy it as much as we all will performing. <3 these days have been tiring.. fell sick on tuesday and didnt go to school on wed and thurs. went back school at 3 this afternoon for dance:) luckily the fever didnt return. haha but dance will always be worth everything. <3 love to mosaic! and dancemates and seniors and femme and syf! <3

hello people. actually i dont have much time. just an update on my really sad life. im really stressed out, there is just so little time for everything. and i cant seem to get enough sleep even on a sunday. i always heard people saying 24 hours is too short to accomplish all that we want, and i always kinda know in the back of my mind that time really flies and you know, that kinda stuff like treasure every second and everything. but till now, i never really FELT for myself how damn freaking short 24 hours is. i have just so many things to do. we have just so many things to do. and there is just so little time.
maybe there will be, if im not me. if im like some other people whom i cant understand how they can spend every second of their days mugging away completing homework on time, sometimes even earlier and yeah, doing their project stuff and sleep at ten pm every night, never late for school and pay full attention in class. i am just not this kind of person. i need time to be with people. i need my friends i need time to laugh, to slow down (even if it's for a second or two) to catch my breath. i need time to catch up with my friends. i need time for dance. i need to dance. i miss my friends quite alot, so i need time to tell them how much i miss them. i need to have some joy and laughter in my life. i need some sort of entertainment. i just cannot mug and mug and mug all day. actually, come to think of it, i cant mug all day also because i can barely understand what im studying right now.
on friday our vp said if you dont pay attention for 5 hours in school, you need to spend another 5 hours outside school to catch up and thats wasting another 5 hours of our time. so.. i dont understand what am i going to school for anyway.
i used to love saying, oh man i love hwachong! like how it was during orientation. how going to school every single day is such great joy. ever since in nanyang, when people hear of the school im in and everything they will go wow wow good but damn stressed. and i always thought no, actually i can handle things quite well. like my results arent like wow fantastic. but they can do. last year in sec four i thought nanyang was stressed enough. but now i finally understand what stress means. and im not saying i dont love hwachong anymore, its a great school. with very exciting times when people are all cheering and everything. and i love things in school like apollo, and my class and all my nanyang friends, my dancemates and my classmates. but it aint so easy to love school anymore. school is taking its toil on me rather badly.
i just wasted quite an amount of time typing much more than i intended to. but yeah. life is freaking stressful now i just hope i dont break down or die or something like that. sometimes i feel like crying but i guess crying helps to relieve some of the stress at times so its okay. -hugs everyone. jiayou.
and dancenight is this coming friday and saturday. im looking forward to it, in fact im looking forward to dance pracs everyday after school much more than school itself. i love dance, i love FEMME<3 i love time with my dancemates and i love my seniors. but i dont want this week to end cause i dont want things to end so fast. i love my seniors<3. best batch of seniors ever.

tickets at $10 bucks each:)today i was passing the dancenight order form around in class and during GP, i heard this comment which kinda made my day:) "hey go for dancenight leh, go support jiaying." :)) THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! after GP, lihao told me, "hey jiaying, im paying 10 bucks to go watch you, you better put up a good show." (:
our modern jazz item is really kind of messy at this moment. definitely not good enough to go up on stage next fri/sat. now we cant even remember our steps clearly, much less to do it well and PERFORM. but i will try my very best we will do our best and really reallyyy try our very best at it. (: when i feel like slacking, i will remind myself NOT TO. and practise practise practise! IT WILL BE HARD. BUT I WILL TRY! we only started on modern jazz less than two weeks ago when syf ended. and now we only have less than two weeks left. to learn and brush up on this really very cheeeem dance. but the cheoreo is fantastic, with great cheoreographers like clarice meiling and liuqian:) modern jazz and syf will be the last items we will be dancing together with our dear seniors, our inspirations. hc dancenight 07 will be a good one:)
first assessment of chem A LEVEL SPA this thursday and my mole concept sucks like shit. whatever, and today is one of the few days i can sleep early. tmr night will be spent doing GPP powerpoint slides for PW. jc is freaking stressful! really cant stand school sometimes and i will get all emo:( rawr and i will start to miss nanyang damn badly. everyday i look forward to the end of school, i look forward to dance, and i look forward to seeing my 403 friends. we had a small 403 "gathering" today during math lecture with wanteng huiping anyi bunny sharon:)) cause all of our math lecture is at the audi. i was reallly happy to see all of them and to be together again and i shocked both myself and bunny and scared munyee when i actually teared haha but those were tears of joy. i was like laughing when it happened. miss fourohthree ALOT! <3

Hwachong Audi$10 per ticketmonday was csm and it was my first time cheering for hwachong and for apollo. haha cheering in jc is much much more exciting and more fun than nanyang i guess. especially so because of the inter faculty competitions thing. haha. faculty events never fail to make us all high and excited. :D i think out of all these years of combined sports meet, this year was the only year when i actually spent 95% of my time at the stands and cheering out loud for apollo. yay apollo owns:)) after csm we had modern jazz which was quite alright, then to siying's house before going to pastamania at funan. haha mschen's treat! :D we are having a series of mschen/mrdan treats:)) pastamania was good fun goofing around talking and camwhoring :D heard that mr dan will be treating us to spiderman 3! :D and chalet at some point of time in the year:)
the past few days can be summarized by mugging and dance. dance is syf and our modern jazz item:) everytime during practices, the seniors can never fail to brighten our day and make practice so much more fun. they are forever so inspiring:)
and every now and then i will look back on that particular wednesday a week ago and think of our syf item, our
journey and smile to myself. it's not that AHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAH kind of smile. it's the sigh! we did it! kind of smile. it's a smile of contentment i guess. it makes me happy:)) many times i want to go back to that very second when all of us were gathered in the central plaza at 11am waiting for everyone to gather. feeling all the modern dancers together. the people you spent the past months training hard with. the seniors, batchmates:) that feeling of feeling the hearts of everyone else in the circle. the feeling of all hearts beating as one:) when nothing else in the world is important anymore:) and then waiting for mr dan to tell us the results and that VERY MOMENT when clarice screamed GOLD WITH HONOURS and we screamed the loudest we ever did before.
